About Me

I was born in ‘63 and live in Tunbridge Wells, Kent (England) – have done pretty much all of my life apart from a very brief sojourn into Cheshire while working for Barclays in the early 90’s. These days, I work as an “affiliate” – that’s basically someone who does websites on various topics some of which review products and get me commissions for referrals. If you ever want a job where there are no customers, no phone calls, no products to ship and no need to leave the house, then this is it! For me, it’s Heaven!

By trade, as you may have guessed, I am a web developer. I started this around 1995 doing basic websites just out of curiosity, then in 1996 started my own web development company which, while I am no longer involved, is still going strong. I lost interest in doing that around 2001 when we were working for some big corporate clients and I found myself writing to spec, and on topics I didn’t have any enthusiasm for. Had I been a graphic designer, then the creative side would probably have kept me interested, but alas my graphic capabilities would be put to shame by a 4-year-olds’ doodlings.

I stumbled on affiliate marketing in 2004 and haven’t looked back. I mainly work in gambling – casino, poker and sports – a topic close to my heart. I am an Arsenal fan – more in the armchair sense though just to scare away the purists, but love sport in general. Golf is a passtime I spent a fair amount of time depressing myself with, although my handicap is a reasonably respectable 12 or so right now.

One great advantage of working in the online gambling sector is the travel. There are conferences several times a year, all over the world. I’ve been to Vegas, Macau, Amsterdam, Barcelona and London (of course) for these and I love them. The people are great and many are now friends, and the industry isn’t exactly hard-pressed for cash so most of it’s laid on gratis too. Regards travelling and holidays, I also regard it as a bit of a hobby so I write up travel reviews and tips etc at Package Holiday .com if you fancy a read.

Anyway, enough about me. For now.
